Game of Skills

PesPatronFantasy is categorized as a "Game of Skill." This type of game relies on the participants' skills rather than mere chance. In a game of skills, individuals use their knowledge, training, and attention to play and succeed.

Online fantasy sports gaming is recognized as legal worldwide, with some exceptions in certain states. The gameplay is based on skill, where users create their own teams and earn points based on the real-life performance of their selected players.

PesPatronFantasy operates legally by providing services, features, programs, and contests related to fantasy cricket, football, kabaddi, volleyball, basketball, and hockey. Users form their teams before matches begin, and points are awarded based on the actual performance of their chosen players. The user with the highest score wins. The formation of teams on PesPatronFantasy relies on the user's skills, knowledge, and attention, affirming its status as a skill-based and fully legal game.

Alignment with Indian Laws

In India, skill-based games like online fantasy sports gaming are generally considered legal, with exceptions in states such as Sikkim, Assam, Odisha, Telangana, and Nagaland. The Public Gambling Act, 1867 (PGA, 1867) defines "public gambling" and the operation of a common gaming house as illegal. However, online fantasy sports gaming is an exception under this Act, as it involves skill and knowledge.

States with Unclear Regulations

In some Indian states, the legal status of skill-based games is ambiguous. For online fantasy sports websites, it is unclear whether pay-to-play contests are permissible. These states include Sikkim, Assam, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Nagaland.

As a result, PesPatronFantasy does not allow residents from Sikkim, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, and Nagaland to participate in pay-to-play contests organized by the platform.
